The Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, is hosting a resources fair for Hispanic families with kids with intellectual and developmental disabilities on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5:30-7:30p.m. at Aldo Leopold Elementary School.
The goal of the fair is to connect and provide Hispanic families with information and resources in Spanish on topics such as respite care, mental health, behavioral health, education, recreation, jobs, therapy, transition to adulthood, and more. Waisman and KGH Autism Services will also provide a free “Ages &Stages Questionnaire” upon request to help parents understand how their child under three years of age is developing and find answers to their concerns. This service is free and easy to understand, and parents will receive the results during the Resources Fair.
The event is free. In addition to information, Padres e Hijos en Acción is generously providing refreshments. Activities for the kids will also be available.
This event is being organized by the Waisman Center in collaboration with our community partners, Padres e Hijos en Acción and La Movida Radio.
